2011 Women's World Cup : USA vs Brazil Online

United States was rolling along right at the Women's World Cup game. They were 2-0 and needed only a win or a draw against Sweden to win their group.

For the first time, American women have lost a match against Sweden in the World Cup. And now they will play Brazil in the quarterfinals. Brazil and United States are known to each other through the years. Brazil was a finalist for the Americans at the Olympics in 2004 and 2008.

Brazil seems solid. They finished undefeated in the group play with a 3-0 victory against Equatorial Guinea. It capped not only a group led by undefeated, but also where they do not allow a goal.

Brazil dominated opponents 7-0 in group play. There was obviously a lot of incentive for U.S. to avoid having to play this powerful team in Brazil in the quarterfinals, but as they have done too often this year, they blew too many chances to find on the net to get a win. After almost two years without loss is the loss of U.S. fourth year and second to Sweden.
