After scoring only his second victory in three years in March, Jorge Gurgel returns to action this August 18th at Strikeforce Challengers
Gurgel tweeted about his participation in the event on Wednesday, later reported that he will meet Joe Duarte on the map that will come to Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas August 12
Former UFC light was released from the organization in 2008 after losing three of his four fights and has gone from 2.2 in four fights of Strikeforce. In front of a home crowd in Ohio in March, Gurgel took only 44 seconds to send Billy Vaughan.
Duarte had a chance to fight for the UFC Fighter least through the eighth season, but eventually lost the elimination round, runner-up Phillipe Novera. Then he took part in tournaments during the season of Light Bellator, Carey Vanier but lost in the quarterfinals. Since this damage Duarte won four straight fights in the first round ends three and sending Saad Awad early April, but the paper Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley event.
This is a great lightweight fight card challengers. Gurgel looked good against Vaughan in March, but do not have a lot of struggle. Duarte won a few fights recently, and this should be a roller, so this is a good opportunity for him in front of someone who has some name value Gurgel. It would be fun to battle on August 12.
